Week 7 DESCANSO GARDENS

Hi Everyone;  this week we'll be back at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge.   Be sure to check your supplies and have 2 watercolor  panels.  The 7" X 9" or similar size for the final art,  and a 4" X 6"  panel for your value study.  also, a plastic water container with a lid;  a small "spritzer" spray bottle.  Please do not bring any large chairs; small "camper" stools are preferable.  If you have any questions about your supplies, refer to the syllabus for a complete list.

Please remember your student I.D. for student admission price of $6.00

Week 5 LAB

Hi Everyone;  no, you're not seeing things!  The snow demo was a request by the Friday class to "interpret" the scene at the Arboretum as a snow scene.  It was fun, partly because the temperature was around 90 degrees, but also to show the class how to use the scene strictly as  reference only, and not as a strict representation.  This gouache demo took about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

We're into week 5 now, and our first lab session.  Monday(139) and Friday(145)  classes will meet in their respective labs for Photoshop enhancement. Please be sure to bring all original artwork, including value studies and reference photos.
Please be there no later than 9:30 am!

Week 8

This week we will continue painting at Descanso Gardens.  Next week (week 9) we will be back in the lab, so do your best to have plenty to work on in Photoshop.

This week we will remain at the LA Arboretum.  Hopefully, it will be a little cooler! 
Next week, (week 5) will be our first lab session for both the Monday and Friday classes.  Do your best to have 2 paintings that you can work on during next weeks lab sessions.
