Because the temperature is expected to be about 90 degrees tomorrow, the Friday  class will meet in the lab, so please don't forget to bring your original art and reference photos. If you would like to paint outdoors, please bring your supplies and you can paint on campus by the pavilion. Also, remember to bring your PHOTO reference for your ARCHITECTURAL assignment.

 Friday's  class will meet at DESCANSO GARDENS:  1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada, Flintridge.

The admission price is $6.00 for students, so please remember your student I.D.
parking is free and there is a cafe.

Week 5 LOCATION CHANGE

Friday's class will meet in the LAB.   If you would like to paint outside, you may paint on campus in the Pavilion area.  Please bring your architectural photos.  You may begin painting those in the lab.or continue on your landscape paintings.  Since it's expected to be in the high 90's, I've decided to move the location to the lab, or if you like, you may still paint outside.

Tuesday's gouache demo

Week 4

Hi Everyone;  this week we will meet in the LAB.  Please bring your 2 original paintings to class for scanning, as well as your 2 original master copies.

Also, remember to bring your PHOTO reference!  You will be finishing your paintings in Photoshop and will be working from your reference.

If you haven't taken photographs for the architectural assignment, please do so within the next week or so.
These architectural photos should have interesting lighting.  The best time to take these photos is late afternoon; usually 5 - 7 PM.  Try to find interesting buildings or houses, or any architectural element that you find has character.  Take at least 8 - 10 photos of different structures that we can pick from.

Tuesdays Gouache Demo

HI everyone;  we will be returning to the LA Arboretum this week, but always check this blog before leaving for class just in case there's a last minute change.  Please bring your membership card (or receipt) and always bring your student I.D.

Please double-check your supplies and remember to prepare your palette (sponge and paper) before coming to class. 

Have a sealing plastic water container that holds at least 32 ounces, and fill before coming to class.
Also, bring 2 illustration boards (double weight/cold press).  1) 4 x 6 (value study)  and  2) 6 x 9 (color)

we will meet in the "staging area" inside the entrance, just to your right.

Welcome Summer Class 2017

Hi Everyone;  Welcome to the summer session of Digital Landscape!  Both the Tuesday and Friday classes will meet at the L.A. Arboretum in Arcadia.   From Pasadena, take the 210 Fwy east to the Baldwin Exit.  Turn Right on Baldwin.  The Arboretum will be directly on the right side.
Be sure to double check your supply list, including a sealed water container
Prepare your palette with the sponge and palette-paper before leaving for the park.
The weather is expected to be cool on Friday, so dress appropriately.  Sweaters or jackets
are recommended. 

Please meet in front of the entrance by the benches.  If you are getting the yearly pass ($35.00),
you can get that in the office next to the entrance.  Be sure to mention you are from Art Center.
Also, remember to bring your student  I.D!  The student  admission is $6.00
