Hi Class;  it's going to be WAY too hot to paint outside, so once again let's meet in the LAB.  As always, bring ALL outwork and reference material to the lab.  We'll continue to work on the architectural assignment as well as the 3 landscape paintings.

WEEK 9

HI Class; this week we'll be in the lab.  Please be sure to bring all of your original artwork for scanning, as well as all of your photo reference.  If you have taken photos for the Architectural Painting, please bring those to class as well.  If you haven't taken photos, you must do so this week.

Week 8

Hi Class;  This week we'll go to Descanso Gardens, just a few minutes from the Hillside campus;

PLEASE.... Be sure to double-check your supply list.  Make sure you bring a water container that closes tightly with at least 32 ozs. of water.
 Prepare your palette and paper in advance..
  1.  cut sponge and paper to fit the palette
  2.  put wet sponge in the palette
  3.  soak paper in hot water for at least 5 minutes
  4.  place wet palette paper on top of sponge
  5.  close lid and bring with you
  6.  NO large chairs; folding stools only
  7.  2 illustration boards / (1) approx: 6 x 9" and    (1) approx: 3 X 6" (value study)
  
  Admission is 6.00 with student I.D. (don't forget it)
We will meet at the umbrella tables just to the left as you enter the park.

ALSO:
Please remember to take the architectural photos this week.  Next week will be a LAB session and you will need to start your architectural painting.  The focus should be on interesting lighting.

Last Weeks Gouache Demo

Week 6

Hi Class;  this week we will head back to the Arboretum in Arcadia.  Please go ahead and enter the park and wait in the "staging" area where we met last time, (just inside the entrance)

PLEASE.... Be sure to double-check your supply list.  Make sure you bring a water container that closes tightly with at least 32 ozs. of water.
 Prepare your palette and paper in advance..
  1.  cut sponge and paper to fit the palette
  2.  put wet sponge in the palette
  3.  soak paper in HOT water for at least 5 minutes
  4.  place wet palette paper on top of sponge
  5.  close lid and bring with you
  6.  NO large chairs; folding stools only
  7.  DO NOT put paint on your palette until ready to paint!
 
  Admission is 6.00 with student I.D. (don't forget it)
